Terms and Conditions

Definitions

  • “Terms”: these Terms and Conditions.
  • “Website”: www.skooliestays.co.uk, the “website” of Skoolie Stays.
  • “We”, “Us”, or “Ours” refers to the “Company” which is Skoolie Stays.
  • “Skoolie Stays” or “Skoolie Stays Bus” or “The Skoolie” refers to the accommodation unit.
  • “Site” refers to the site in which the Skoolie Stays Bus is located.
  1. Contract
    1.1. These Terms and Our price list set out the entire agreement between you and Skoolie Stays for the supply of Our services to you. Only these Terms shall apply to Our contract with you and by submitting a Booking you are deemed to have accepted these Terms.
    1.2. We reserve the right to change these Terms, information on the website or via any of our marketing channels at any time and any such changes will take effect immediately.
    1.3. In addition to these Terms, you must comply with the Rules (set out below). If you do not adhere to our Terms and rules or fail to pay for your accommodation, you will be in breach of your contract and you will be refused entry to the Skoolie Stays Bus.
  2. Bookings
    2.1. A booking cannot be made for less than 2 nights or for more than 14 nights. No long term lets are available.
    2.2. Bookings can only be made via our website or through our contracted partners.
    2.3. Bookings are non-transferable, unless We have given consent.
    2.4. When making a booking you agree that you or at least one member of your party is twenty-one (21) years or over, you have the authority of all persons in your party to book on their behalf, you accept these Terms & Conditions and you agree to be responsible for any loss or damage caused by any member of your party.
  3. Rules
    You, together with all members of your party, are required to comply with the following rules:

3.1. Guests and visitors agree to be considerate tenants and to take good care of the bus and facilities during their stay. Should any facilities or equipment be damaged wilfully, as a result of inappropriate usage or behaviour, or as a direct result of failing to respond to instructions from Us, you will be held responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of that item.
3.2. Guests and visitors agree not to act in any way which would cause disturbance to the neighbours and local environment. This includes, but is not limited to: drunk, disorderly or abusive behaviour; loud or disrupting music or excessive noise after 22:00 and before 08:00. We reserve the right to ask you to leave should you fail to comply.
3.3. You must not stray into fields or buildings around the Skoolie Stays Bus, for example farm buildings or crop fields. This is for your own personal safety.
3.4. Pets are not allowed in the Skoolie Stays Bus.
3.5. By booking and coming to the Skoolie Stays Bus you agree to be responsible for your children and any dependants you are in charge of, and your own welfare and to take all reasonable precautions against personal injury, injury to others and damage to farmland or farm buildings. This includes all use of the hot tub, fire-coil, decking area, hammocks, and fire pits. You take all responsibility for your own and your guests welfare when using these.
3.6. The Site is limited to only the existing bus – no additional tents, campers, gazebos etc are allowed.
3.7. Leave the Skoolie Stays Bus as you found it, ie: no excess litter or damage. A basic cleaning fee is included in your package but you will be charged for any large items of waste that need to be disposed of or any excess cleaning necessary. Damage deposits will be refunded within 48 hours directly to the booking payment card after the Skoolie Stays Bus has been fully inspected. Any deductions will be listed.
3.8. Strictly NO fireworks, Chinese lanterns, guns or weapons.
3.9. We cannot accept responsibility for your possessions or any personal injury of any kind sustained while on the Skoolie Stays Bus or on the farmland surrounding it.
3.10. No open fires are allowed.
3.11. You must vacate the Skoolie Stays Bus by 11:00am on your departure day promptly, unless a late check-out has been granted by prior agreement.
3.12. You must keep to the 5mph speed limit on the farmland. Vehicles must be parked in the designated area. If you take your vehicle onto the field and get it stuck, you will be charged to tow it out and will also be liable to pay for any damages to the field.
3.13. Glamping in Britain can mean all sorts of weather can be expected. The Skoolie Stays Bus is equipped for summer and winter but you are responsible for your own well-being and comfort regarding appropriate clothing and footwear etc. In extreme weather conditions, such as exceptional cold and snow, we do our best to warn guests and give guests the option to move dates (subject to availability).
3.14. Customer problems or complaints – please call Us so we can work to resolve your problem as quickly as possible, particularly if it is during your stay.

  1. The Hot Tub and decking area – Rules and Disclaimer
    4.1. Use at Your Own Risk
    4.1.1. The hot tub and hot tub decking area is used entirely at your own risk. We accept no responsibility for accidents, injuries, or health issues arising from its use.

4.1.2. Do not use the hot tub decking area in high winds

4.2. Safety Guidelines
4.2.1. Children under 16 must have direct adult supervision.
4.2.2. Seek medical advice if you have heart conditions, blood pressure issues, are pregnant, or have other health concerns.
4.2.3. Do not use the hot tub under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or drowsy medications.
4.2.4. No glassware in or around the hot tub.
4.2.5. Be cautious as surfaces can be slippery when wet.

4.3. Operational Guidance
4.3.1. The hot tub is manually heated. Full instructions must be followed.
4.3.2. Guests are responsible for lighting and maintaining the fire safely.
4.3.3. Do not use accelerants like petrol or lighter fluid.
4.3.4. Monitor water temperature. Recommended range: 37°C to 40°C.

4.4. Hygiene & Water Care
4.4.1. Shower before entering to remove lotions, oils, and cosmetics.
4.4.2. Do not add bubble bath or oils.

4.5. Before You Leave
4.5.1. Ensure the fire is out, and the hot tub is drained and cleaned.

  1. Prices
    5.1. Nightly Rate
    5.1.1. The prices are based on a nightly rate unless otherwise stated. There is a 2-night minimum stay with an automatic discount for stays of 7 nights.

5.2. Price Changes
5.2.1. While we will make every effort to ensure our prices remain unchanged, they may be amended at any time.

5.3. Exclusions
5.3.1. Prices do not include any additional services unless expressly stated.

5.4. Promotions and Discounts
5.4.1. Promotions, deals, or discounted offers are subject to availability and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount. They may be withdrawn at any time, and retrospective refunds are not permitted against any offer or promotion once a booking is made.

  1. Payment
    6.1. Pre-booked Payments
    6.1.1. We only accept pre-booked, fully paid bookings. Credit or debit card payments must be made in advance of arrival and online.

6.2. Non-payment
6.2.1. Non-payment renders your contract with us invalid, and your booking will be canceled.

6.3. Deposit
6.3.1. A 30% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.

6.4. Full Payment
6.4.1. Full payment will be required 8 weeks before your stay. If the booking is less than 8 weeks from the date of your stay, the full price of the stay is required. Confirmation of the booking will be sent after the deposit, or full payment, has been received.

6.5. Late Payment
6.5.1. If the balance is not paid by the due date, Skoolie Stays reserves the right to re-sell the accommodation and retain the deposit.

  1. Cancellation, Amendments, and Refunds
    7.1. Amendments to Booking
    7.1.1. If you wish to amend your booking dates, please notify us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your request, subject to availability.
    7.1.2. If you provide notification at least 8 weeks before your requested change, we will amend your dates, subject to availability.
    7.1.3. If you request a date change within 8 weeks of your arrival, we are not obliged to accept the request. Any changes will be at our discretion.
    7.1.4. If an amendment increases the price of your booking, the increased amount will be charged.

7.2. Cancellation Charges
7.2.1. If you cancel at least 8 weeks prior to your arrival, the booking deposit will be retained.
7.2.2. If you cancel less than 8 weeks before your arrival, a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made.

7.3. Cancellation Confirmation
7.3.1. Cancellations must be confirmed in writing by email by the person who made the booking.

7.4. No Show or Booking Reduction
7.4.1. In the event of a no-show or reduction in booking after arrival, the full cost of the booking is charged.

7.5. Weather Conditions
7.5.1. We do not accept poor weather as a reason for cancellation/rebooking unless it is deemed unsafe, such as flooding, hurricanes, or other extreme weather conditions. In such cases, you will be contacted and offered alternative dates.

7.6. COVID-19 Cancellation
7.6.1. If you wish to cancel due to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, or if you cannot attend due to travel restrictions or self-isolation, payments are non-refundable. However, they can be used for a new booking within the following 18 months.

7.7. Holiday Insurance
7.7.1. We strongly advise visitors to take out full holiday insurance to cover cancellations, public liability, personal belongings, loss, etc.

7.8. Skoolie Stays Cancellation
7.8.1. If we need to cancel your holiday, we shall inform you as soon as possible and refund all money paid to us within 14 days.

7.9. Skoolie Stays Bus Closure
7.9.1. If we close the Skoolie Stays Bus (e.g., due to frozen water pipes or other extreme conditions), a refund will be provided for any lost days if you have not yet arrived.

  1. Limitation of Our Liability
    8.1. Liability for Death or Injury
    8.1.1. Nothing in this section limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other matter where it would be illegal to exclude liability.

8.2. Direct Loss or Damage
8.2.1. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer as a direct and foreseeable result of our failure or negligence. We are not responsible for any indirect losses, including loss of income or business.

8.3. Force Majeure
8.3.1. Skoolie Stays is not liable for refunds or expenses if we are prevented from fulfilling your booking due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to war, terrorism, flooding, natural disasters, epidemics, or similar events (“Force Majeure”).

8.4. Maximum Liability
8.4.1. Our maximum liability shall be limited to a refund of the amount paid by you for the holiday.

8.5. Personal Possessions
8.5.1. Any damage or loss to your possessions is at your own risk. You use the facilities at your own risk.

8.6. Rural Environment
8.6.1. We are not responsible for damage, injury, or inconvenience caused by livestock, wildlife, plants, or weather conditions on the site.

8.7. Vehicle Assistance
8.7.1. Skoolie Stays is not responsible for any vehicle damage or assistance required if your vehicle gets stuck on the site.

8.8. Travel Insurance
8.8.1. We do not accept responsibility for anything adversely affecting your holiday outside of our control. We advise you to have suitable travel insurance.

8.9. Governing Law
8.9.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

    9.1. GDPR Compliance
    9.1.1. Skoolie Stays is fully GDPR-compliant. Your data is stored securely and used only for your booking. Payment details are not stored or seen by us and are only used for the purpose of creating a booking via Stripe.

9.2. Mailing List
9.2.1. Your contact and personal details may be kept for future mailings. You may opt out of receiving emails at any time by contacting us or clicking the unsubscribe link.

9.3. Cookies
9.3.1. We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used to improve our website. You can accept or decline cookies.

9.4. External Links
9.4.1. Our website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy or protection of any information you provide on these sites.

    10.1. Ownership
    10.1.1. All website content, design, text, and graphics are owned by us. All copyright, trademarks, and intellectual property rights belong to us.

10.2. Usage Restrictions
10.2.1. You may not use the website’s content in any way that infringes on intellectual property rights. You are permitted to download and print out pages for personal viewing only.
