3. Rules
You, together with all members of your party, are required to comply with the following rules:
- Guests agree to be considerate tenants and to take good care of the bus and facilities during their stay. A detailed inventory is kept in the Skoolie Manual on board. Should any facilities or equipment be damaged as a result of inappropriate usage or behaviour, or as a direct result of failing to respond to instructions from Us, you will be held responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of that item. If windows, skylights or doors are left open during your stay, or at the point of your departure, and subsequent damage is caused as a result of a security breach or inclement weather, you will be responsible for the cost to repair any damage caused.
- Guests agree not to act in any way which would cause disturbance to the neighbours and local environment. This includes, but is not limited to: drunk, disorderly or abusive behaviour; loud or disrupting music or excessive noise after 22:00 and before 08:00 and drone photography taken without prior consent. We reserve the right to ask you to leave should you fail to comply.
- Our location is on private farmland. You can enjoy the field in which the bus is situated but you must not stray into surrounding fields, woodland or buildings. This is for your own personal safety. Anyone found breaking the rules can be removed from the land by the farmer / local council and would not receive a refund for the lost portion of their stay.
- We cannot accept responsibility for your possessions or any personal injury of any kind sustained while on the Skoolie Stays Bus, on the attached side-deck or on the farmland surrounding it.
- By booking and coming to the Skoolie Stays Bus you agree to be responsible for your children and any dependants you are in charge of, and your own welfare and to take all reasonable precautions against personal injury, injury to others and damage to farmland or farm buildings.
- The Skoolie is designed for a maximum of 4 people. The available berths are 1 x king size bed (2 people) and 2 murphy-style bunks which are not standard size single beds. Whilst they are 6ft long and weight tested for the average adult, they are narrower than an average single.
- Pets are not allowed in the Skoolie Stays bus.
- The Skoolie Stays Bus is designed to be off-grid and Guests are encouraged to be mindful and responsible of usage:

- On-board water and propane tanks and a compost toilet are supplied to comfortably accommodate a 2 night stay for up to 4 Guests. If you have booked for longer, this is monitored and refreshed if necessary.
- The Site is limited to only the existing bus – no additional tents, campers, gazebos etc are allowed. During the summer, a pop-up campsite is open in a separate section of the field but this is managed by a third party and Skoolie Stays has no involvement and is not liable for any other campers within the field. Under no circumstances can campers use the Skoolie Stays facilities as they are not designed to accommodate the needs of more than four Guests.
- A maximum of two day visitors can join you during your stay but no parking is available overnight.
- Leave the Skoolie Stays Bus as you found it, ie: no excess litter or damage. A basic cleaning fee is included in your package but you will be charged for any large items of waste that need to be disposed of or any excess cleaning necessary. Damage deposits will be refunded within 48 hours directly to the booking payment card after the Skoolie Stays Bus has been fully inspected. Any deductions will be listed.

- Glamping in Britain can mean all sorts of weather can be expected. The Skoolie Stays Bus is equipped for summer and winter but you are responsible for your own well being and comfort regarding appropriate clothing and footwear etc. In extreme weather conditions, such as exceptional cold and snow, we do our best to warn Guests and give Guests the option to move dates (subject to availability).

- Whilst we will make every effort to ensure that our prices remain unchanged, they may be amended at any time.
- Prices do not include any additional services unless expressly stated.
- Promotions, deals or discounted offers are subject to availability and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount and may be withdrawn at any time. Retrospective refunds are not permitted against any offer or promotion advertised after such time a booking is made.
5. Payment
- We only accept pre-booked fully paid bookings. Credit or debit card payments must be made in advance of arrival and online.
- Non-payment renders your contract with us as invalid and your booking will be cancelled.
- 30% of the cost of the holiday will be taken as a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking.
- Full payment will be required 8 weeks before your stay. If the booking is less than 8 weeks from the date of your stay the full price of the stay is required. Confirmation of the booking will be sent after the deposit, or full payment, has been received.
- If the balance is not paid by the due date, Skoolie Stays reserves the right to re-sell the accommodation and retain the deposit.
- Security deposits are held before your arrival and are released 24 hours after your stay ends. Skoolie Stays does not handle funds directly, they are held by the Guest’s bank. If Skoolie Stays wants to claim for any damages / problems, the bank is notified and a payment is made to Skoolie Stays. If Skoolie Stays makes a claim, full details of any deducted funds are sent to Guests.
6. Cancellation, amendments and refunds
- If you want to amend your booking dates, please notify us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate your request, subject to the following:
- If you provide notification at 8 weeks or more of your requested change, we will amend your dates, subject to availability.
- If you request a date change within 8 weeks of your arrival date, we are not obliged to accept your request. Changes made will be at Our discretion.
- If an amendment increases the price of your booking, the increased amount will be charged.
- If you wish to cancel your booking rather than rebook, you will be subject to the following charges:
- If you provide notification at a minimum of 8 weeks prior to your arrival date, a charge equal to the booking deposit will be made.
- If you provide notification at less than 8 weeks prior to your arrival date, a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made.
- Any cancellation must be confirmed in writing by email, by the person who made the booking.
- In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.
- We do not accept poor weather as a reason for cancellation/rebooking, unless it is deemed as unsafe and risk to public safety i.e., flooding, hurricanes and other extreme weather conditions in which case you will be contacted and offered alternative dates.
- If you wish to cancel due to COVID-19 ‘lockdown’ restrictions, or if you are not able to attend due to restrictions in other countries or because you need to self-isolate, any payments you have made (whether deposit or full balance) are not refundable, although they can be used instead towards a new booking within the following 18 months.
- We strongly advise visitors to take out full holiday insurance to cover cancellations, public liability, personal belongings, loss etc.
- In the event that we need to cancel your holiday we shall inform you as soon as possible and refund all money paid to us, by you, within 14 days.
- If we close the Skoolie Stays Bus (e.g. due to extreme cold weather causing frozen water pipes) which will mean a lost day or days to your booking and you have yet to arrive you will be refunded.
- Should extenuating circumstances demand it, we may be forced to move location. We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible to guests. If we consider the new location to be comparable and within easy reach of the location chosen at the point of booking, our standard cancellation policy applies.
7. Limitation of our liability
- Nothing in this section limits or attempts to limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by Our negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other matter for which it would be illegal or unlawful for us to exclude or attempt to exclude Our liability.
- If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a direct and foreseeable result of Our failure or Our negligence. We shall not be responsible for any losses that you suffer that are indirect or not foreseeable, including, but not limited to, loss of income or revenue, loss of business and loss of anticipated savings.
- Skoolie Stays are not liable for refunds or expenses you incur in the event we are prevented from fulfilling your booking as a result of circumstances beyond our control. Such circumstances shall include (but will not be limited to) war, terrorism, serious crime, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics or such similar events (“Force Majeure”). We recommend that you have adequate holiday insurance in place to cover this.
- Where we are responsible for your loss, Our maximum liability shall be no more than to refund the amount paid by you for the holiday.
- Anything you bring to the campsite or wider farmland and any damage or loss to your possessions is at your own risk. You use the facilities and amenities at the camp at your own risk, e.g. the log burning stove and side deck.
- Our site is located in a rural environment, we do not accept responsibility for any damage, injury or inconvenience caused by livestock, plants, trees, wildlife or weather. We advise you to have the relevant insurance.
- Should any of the vehicles owned by your party get stuck and require assistance or towing, we shall not be held responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle(s). You should check that your insurance cover will allow secondary towing.
